About This Elapsed Time Worksheet — How Much Time Passed?
This free printable elapsed time worksheet worksheet helps students read analog and digital clocks, tell time to the nearest minute, and work with elapsed time and AM/PM. Practice moves from whole and half hours to quarter hours and five-minute intervals.
What Students Will Learn
Students learn to read both clock faces and digital displays, understand the relationship between the hour and minute hands, and solve elapsed-time problems. These skills support daily routines, scheduling, and measurement concepts.
How Teachers Can Use This Worksheet
- Real clock practice: Start with a large classroom clock and move the hands as a group, calling out times before students work independently.
- Schedule building: Have students build a simple daily schedule and calculate how long each activity lasts — elapsed time in a real context.
- Analog vs. digital: Pair an analog clock with a digital display so students see the two representations of the same moment.
How Parents and Homeschoolers Can Use This Worksheet
Point out clocks throughout the day and ask "what time is it?" Use timers for routines and talk about "how many minutes until dinner." A practice clock with movable hands is a great hands-on tool for the analog face.
