CVC Words — Blend, Read & Write!

📖 How It Works

CVC words have a consonant, vowel, consonant pattern. Say each sound slowly, then blend them together to read the word. Example: c — a — t → cat! The vowel in a CVC word always makes its short sound.

Short a:
cat, map, bag, hat
Short e:
bed, pen, jet, leg
Short i:
pig, sit, lip, fin
Short o:
dog, pot, log, fox
Short u:
sun, cup, bus, rug
